Wellness Experience
The Desert Willow embodies the concept of dynamic stretching. Take a moment to do some stretching movements. Start by standing in a relaxed and balanced posture. The first stretch will be neck rolls. Roll your neck slowly to the left so that your left ear moves towards your left shoulder followed by the back of your head moving closer to your upper back neck and then finish the roll with your right ear near your right shoulder.
Bring your head back to neutral position and now repeat the neck roll in the opposite direction – right ear to right shoulder then the back of your head to the back of your neck, left ear to left shoulder and back to neutral. Now let’s do some shoulder rolls. Move both shoulders forward, then shrug both shoulders upwards, then pull both shoulders backwards and then move both shoulders down.
Repeat the shoulder roll one more time – forward, up, back and down. Now, onto truck twists. With your arms loose, twist your torso so that your upper body rotates to the right. Let your arms move naturally – they will naturally gentely slap against the front and back of your body. Repeat the twist to the left side. Go back and forth a few more times. Come back to a neutral standing position and let your upper body fall forward so that you are in a forward bend. Let your arms hang loosely.
You can simply hold this hang position or do a few very gentle bounces of your upper body downward. The last moving stretch is lunge stretch. From a neutral standing position, take an exaggerated step forward with your right leg and let your right knee bend while keeping your left leg extended behind you. Feel the stretch in your upper left leg and hip. Now come back to standing and repeat the lunge stretch by stepping forward with your left leg while keeping your right leg extended behind you. Feel the stretch and then come back to standing. You will likely feel more limber and alert!
