What is the learning format of the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine?

The Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine Fellowship is primarily online and self-paced within each unit. Are Fellows able to continue working while in the Integrative Medicine Fellowship?

The Fellowship in Integrative Medicine is designed for practicing clinicians, which is why we call it a Fellowship in Practice. Our alumni include hospitalists, pain specialists, primary care physicians, oncologists, surgeons, cardiologists, OB/GYNs, pharmacists, and experts across many other specialties, all of whom successfully balanced full-time patient care while completing the program.

What are the requirements for admission to the Fellowship? Do you have to have an MD?

The Integrative Medicine Fellowship is designed for physicians (MD, DO), pharmacists (PharmD), advanced practice registered nurses (APRN), dentists (DDS/DMD)and  physician assistants with a current medical license. Please contact admissions to begin the pre-approval process. Naturopathic doctors (ND) who have graduated from a naturopathic program approved by the AANMC are eligible to apply. You cannot be in a residency program unless you are a part of our IMFR program.

What would my time commitment be?

The Fellowship in Integrative Medicine is a flexible, two-year, mostly online, 1,000 hour program, designed to fit alongside your clinical practice. Fellows typically dedicate around 8 to 10 hours per week to self-paced learning and participate in three separate experiential retreat weeks in Tucson for hands-on training. Fellows maintain current academic progress throughout the two years of the Fellowship.

What will I receive upon graduation from the Fellowship?
