TUCSON, Ariz. (Sept. 17, 2025) — James “Jim” Lloyd Kimbrough, business development specialist at the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine & Health (ACIMH).

The volunteer Board of Directors serves as the governing body of the Academic Consortium, working with staff, committees, and strategic partners to fulfill its mission of advancing integrative medicine in academic health centers and health systems. With more than 86 member institutions across the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico, the Academic Consortium is the world’s most comprehensive community for advancing the practice of whole health, with leading expertise in research, clinical care, and education.

“It is a privilege to join the Board of Directors at such a pivotal moment for integrative medicine,” Kimbrough said. “The Consortium's collaborative network of members from leading academic institutions and health systems are transforming health care through education, research, and clinical care. I look forward to working with such a talented team, contributing to support the mission and the continued growth of our field.”

“Jim’s appointment reflects both his talent for building meaningful partnerships and his deep commitment to advancing integrative medicine,” said Stephen Dahmer, MD, director of the Andrew Weil Center. “He brings to the Consortium a valuable combination of business expertise and a values-driven vision for whole person care.”

Kimbrough has worked for the Center since 2016, where he develops strategic alliances with universities, health systems and professional associations, supporting the Center’s flagship educational programs, including the Foundational Fellowship Curriculum and Integrative Medicine in Residency. His efforts have helped expand the reach of integrative medicine training to hundreds of residency programs and thousands of clinicians worldwide.

The Academic Consortium’s collective vision is to transform health care by promoting integrative medicine and health worldwide, consolidating the expertise of top institutions like the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, and empowering professionals and students committed to whole health.
