Cynthia Thomson PhD, RD

Cynthia Thomson is a registered dietitian and doctoral trained nutrition scientist at the University of Arizona. She holds the title of associate professor in the department of nutritional sciences and is joint-appointed on the faculty at the college of medicine and the college of public health. She has over 20 years of clinical experience and currently conducts research in the areas of diet intervention for weight control, chronic disease risk reduction and cancer prevention. She is interested in the role of bioactive compounds in the diet and modulation of clinical disease risk including oxidative stress and inflammation.

Cyndi is married and the mother of two high-energy boys who help her to maintain a sense of balance and meaning in life.
